Rez is a Corporate Development, M&A, Private Equity and Financial Management executive with over 30 years of global experience applying his expertise to add significant value across a wide spectrum of industries.
He possesses hands-on experience leading multidisciplinary deal teams in sourcing, analyzing, structuring, and executing Corporate M&A (buy-side & sell-side) as well as Private Equity transactions, having successfully participated in a number of private and public transactions with a combined value of $7.5+ billion across 150+ closed deals; with transaction values ranging from $10M, for a private company, to +$3.5B for a highly complex international acquisition of a US publicly-traded company.
Prior to founding Athena Associates, he worked at a number of leading global financial institutions such as: GE Capital, JP Morgan, BNP Pribas, and Barclays Bank in the US, Europe and Asia, as well as at Cox Enterprises in the US.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (with honors) in Engineering from the University of Glasgow, UK, and a Master of Business Administration degree (with honors) from Emory University, Atlanta, US. He is also a UK Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) and is currently working towards certification as a Certified Turnaround Analyst with the Turnaround Management Association.

Andrew has been helping clients buy and sell businesses for 25 years. He has worked with owner-operators, private equity funds and both public and private corporate sellers on hundreds of M&A transactions.
Andrew began his career as a media M&A specialist at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, both as a third-party advisor and a limited partner in their equity funds. Since then he has worked at BMO Capital Markets, B. Riley and ultimately as the Head of Investment Banking at Woodbridge International.
Among his largest transactions, he sold Fast Company to Bertelsmann, bought Hanley-Wood Exhibitions for Informa, and sold White Directory to Hearst. He has worked with small and large companies in technology, media, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, business services, and other industries. He currently serves as President of A. Buchholtz & Company.
